How to Start your Journey
Ok you have done the work of Decluttering. (If not don’t worry you can find help) You have collected your sentimental objects from all their hiding spots. These are the objects that represent something to you or invoke memories, or they can simply represent a person. According to the KonMari method these are objects that bring you joy.
So now you have a box of joy, now what? The problem is that the objects don’t have a place, sure you can lay them out on a table but that’s where the label clutter comes about. The idea of putting them in a glass curio cabinet may be appealing , at least you wouldn’t have to dust it. But, is that really honoring it? It is a box of joy, remember. When was the last time you looked into a curio cabinet to see what was inside and truthfully if you did look it didnt bring you joy. Now you can just give up and put the box under your bed or in the closet like most people. OR, you can ask the question “What can Journey Sculpture artist Deborah Landry do with it?”

- Divide and categorize into any logical themes
- If it is a memory, describe it
- If it is a person, describe them, favorite things, activities, and passions
- Where are you wanting to display it, what is the size of the space, what else is in the room, what is your style.
- Send images of your sentimental objects you would like to be included in the Journey Assemblage sculpture.
PROCESS Once I recive your images and story

- I will call you to get additinal details.
- I will rough sketch how I can incorporate items in a sculpture
- I will make sketches of additional artwork to be included
- I will contact you with the ideas and get your feedback, provide a time line for competion.
- We will agree on budget and sign contract
- You will send objects and 1/2 payment
- Once sculpture is completed, send second 1/2 of payment and shipping
- Your Journey Sculpture is sent home

Frequently Asked Questions
Can anything be made into a Journey Sculpture?
Short answer Yes, longer answer is, I will work with you to ensure the sculpture I create evokes the memories and feelings you desire. You may want a thing to be included but it doesn’t represent the joy you are looking for. Anything that doesn’t get used will be returned.
Do the Things I have included in the sculpture get destroyed in the process of being included in the sculpture?
No, I secure the items in such a way that they are able to be removed without being damaged. If an Item needs to be altered to be included you will receive a call beforehand to be informed and discuss options. Some items that are heavy might have to be drilled to be attached.
Can I include things that are valuable?
Yes. Items that are valuable will be made so that they are protected from being pulled off the sculpture. The item could be under glass or put in a box. If an item is too big, valuable or just wont fit, there will be an option that a painting can be created to represent the item.
