Tea and Gold

$1,465.00

An old cracked teapot gets a new life. I broke it further with a hammer. There was a quote around the top of the teapot that read “Polly Put the Kettle On, well all have tea.” There was a stamp on the bottom that said it was made in England. The clay was very thin and was not made to withstand real use. It was most likely made for tourist. I am not sure where the wooden bird came from originally. They were just a found object. The object on the far left is a vintage piece of lace from a sample card. It is laying on top of a piece of canvas that I did some rust printing on. You can see the threads from a large screw. The little necklace is an impression of a candy necklace done in encaustic (Wax Painting). The Gold Fish is a 4”x4” framed oil painting. It was created specifically for the sculpture.
